Top 3 Inner suburbs worth visiting in Auckland Hello! I went travelling in Auckland 2 years ago due to student exchange. Auckland is a large metropolitan city on the North Island of New Zealand and is the most populous urban area in the country. I have been to some inner suburbs in Auckland which are worth visiting.  The first suburb is Mount Eden is almost 650 feet high. The cone of this long-dormant volcano is the highest natural point in Auckland. Mount Eden is dominated by a volcanic peak also known as Maungawhau, with hiking and jogging trails leading to views over the Hauraki Gulf.
